Aya Takano (b. December 22, 1976) is a contemporary artist, illustrator and sci-fi writer based in Japan. Takano is known for her Superflat and manga art style, where her paintings and illustrations often depict futuristic and fantastical universes through an empowering female perspective. Takano accelerated her art career by working as an assistant for artist Takashi Murakami and is now part of a group of artists represented by Kaikai Kiki.
